Hey, it's my first post here so I hope this is alright.

My Dad had R-CHOP chemo for non-hodgkins Lymphomo back in 2012, having 6 sessions. We found out today that he has to go back for more chemo, but they said to my Mum that he can only have 2 more R-CHOP sessions, as "you can only have it 8 times in your lifetime". However, I can't find anything about this online. Is it just an NHS thing?

If anyone knows any more details, I'd appreciate it.

  • Hi and welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that after 7 years your dad has discovered that he needs to have more treatment. It must have been a very distressing discovery for you all.

Could I suggest that you join the non-hodgkin lymphoma group and post your question there as well. I'm sure the helpful people in that group will be able to help with your question.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then post your question after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your dad's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
