My husband is about to undergo chemo for advanced prostate cancer .how does the rest of the household stand about passing germs and infections to him

I have been in my cancer journey for over 26 years being diagnosed in 1999 at 43 with my first rare, hard to treat, incurable type of T-Cell Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma……. then Asbestosis in 2013……. then my second very rare, hard to treat very aggressive type of T-Cell Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma……. then in April this year I was also diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.
Over my main treatment years Oct 2013 to Oct 2015 I had over 750 hrs of chemo that had me in hospital for 5 nights / 6 days on my 2 IV pumps 24/7 for over 120 hrs for each of my 6 cycles…….. I also had 45 Radiotherapy zaps and also 2 Allogenic (donor) Stem Cell Transplants that had me in hospital 28 nights for my first and 29 nights for my second and over these 2 years I had not one infection.
We just instigated very strict infection control at home, washing hands regularly, disinfecting surfaces and opening the wi does to let the air circulate.
We had 2 young granddaughters at the time but as long as they did not have runny noses or coughs they regularly visited……. The same criteria was applied to family and friends visiting.
We were not hermits so we got out and about….. but no busy supermarkets, restaurants etc…. but yes to meeting with folks in a quiet corner of a garden centre….. always on tables outside.
We walked a lot, fresh air is a healer.
Think Covid times but without the formal restrictions.
