I competed my 12 cycles of FOLFOX 6 weeks ago and am now on a maintenance program. That is to say, the Oxyplatin is removed from my chemo but I still have the Bev and Fluorcil every two weeks to keep things stable.
I still have the tingling and numbness in my hands and feet. My clinician said this is called ‘Coasting’ and should subside but I still have it. It’s not painful and doesn’t stop me doing things I want to do - just annoying. Does anybody know how long it takes before it subsides?
Hi ekimjo I have never heard the term ‘Coasting’…… but during my main 2 years treatment (750+ hrs chemo, 45 radiotherapy zaps and 2 Allograft (donor) Stem Cell Transplants) between Oct 2013 to Oct 2015 for my 2 rare types of T-Cell Lymphomas I definitely expected Peripheral neuropathy that caused numbness in my hands and feet….. but once my treatments were completed it all slowly improved…… but for me it took a good year.
