Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi Ray. My Mam was a doyenne of Vicks and Beecham's Powders. I especially loved to lick the paper that enfolded the powder as I thought it was really tasty. I still love Oxo and Bovril drinks to this day, and don't care about the salt content either. I like to live on the edge Smile xxx

  • Gorgeous work. You are brilliant

  • Hello Gill (

I watch my football team who play at the 2nd highest league football stadium in England. Boundary Park (Ice Station Zebra!). At each home game I without fail purchase a Bovril (£3.00). It's something to look forward to as the result isn't always isn't that good!!

There's nowt like a steaming Bovril on a cold day watching football!

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Brian, I totally agree - clutching a steaming hot Bovril at that altitude, and in the grip of winter, must be like a gift from the gods. Or three quid to the vendor. I love the meaty, beefy aroma of the dark, velvety liquid, scalding the throat on its warming way down.

After all the lyrical waxing, the Bovril cubes are easier to manage and less messy than the jarred stuff. A top tip if you make up a flask and want to avoid said vendor's extortionate prices. That made me sound like a right tight wad! xxx

  • Hello Gill (

Someone sitting close to me brings in a flask of Bovril - infused with Rum - and judging by his face colour the split between the contents is beginning to look like it's more like Rum with a touch of  Bovril .........JoyJoyJoy.

    Kind regards - Brian.
