Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hi Kevin, and another warm welcome from me, to our friendly little thread, though I'm sorry you too have cancer for a second time, and I will have everything crossed your lung resection goes as well as possible on Monday, I had rectal and prostate, rectal wasn't a problem, prostate manageable, though recent mets to 3 more bones, lung, liver, kidney, spleen, and pancreas, will change that, but not today my friend, theirs usually someone around if you fancy a chat, we're a friendly bunch.
Eddie
Evening Eddie, though I'm really saddened to hear about all of that. How you manage to stay upbeat I'll never know but I suppose wallowing doesn't do any good.
On a much better note I read an earlier post that you were on the train from Paris to Milan, which must have been an amazing journey. I hope you've reached your destination and are relaxing right this minute. Have you taken a supply of dark chocolate? I put two large squares of Lindt 85% on LOH's breakfast tray every morning as he loves it.
Have a fabulous time in Greece and look after yourself as much as possible. Sending big hugs and love to you all xxx
Hi Kevin, sorry to hear your troubles and on top of that the cancellation of your op,all goes well on Monday ,

Hi Gilly, the train to Milan was nice enough, but most of it was at night, so we saw very little and our hotel was just outside the station so saw little of Milan too, though the train station was impressive. The train down to Bari was really nice, watching the locals getting on and off and the scenery was fab, sadly we arrived in Bari in the dark, we decided to walk to the ferry, stopping for a coffee on the way, we're sat outside 4 1/2 hours out of Bari looking at the stars before bedtime.
Oooh Lindt chocolate for breakfast, only the best for LOH, and why not, after all it's good for you. Well my friend we have another 13 hours on the ferry, then a 2 1/2 hour drive to the villa courtesy of Lesley. Well, what's the new bedding like, is it all you hoped for a d helping with your sleep.
20C tomorrow, scorcher, then its all down hill.
love Eddie and aunties xx
Good morning Eddie if you're still awake
Well it's a pity a lot of your journey was in darkness but the rest sounded fantastic, and there'll be loads more to come, especially if the weather stays good for you. The new bedding's everything it's cracked up to be, very warm and snug. I was gearing up to try for some kip but LOH had a big wheezing and mucous excretion so I called him down for a neb session and new filter. He seems settled now but I'm back to wide awake. This rotten disease manages to get its grip on us all, in every way it can.
I'll see if Gill (Briars) is still awake as she's finding dropping off a challenge too. I'm unsure if you're in front of our time here, but you try for some sleep too Eddie, so you're fresh for some nice weather and scenery. Huge hugs to yourself and the aunties and I'm sure they'll look after you xxx
Good morning to you Gill R, and I'm hoping you manage to get some sleep in, especially as you've got an appointment coming up. Sending best wishes and good luck with it all my lovely. You've had more than your share of rotten luck and it's high time you got a break.
It's sounding like Eddie's in for a lovely time and weather, once all the travelling's done, and I'm hoping he'll send us some photos as he takes some smashers.
Fingers crossed for you today sweetheart xxx

Hi Gill H again this has just come through to men, your right it effects so many partners .
You all do so wonderful well .
im going to have to get some help to get my head round this wonderful site after tomorrows over as I’m getting so many repeats and I need to read your profiles to learn more about my new friends.
so glad I’ve found you all,
nt again and hope you both manage a good one .
.
Hi Gill.
Yep, I love hearing about Eddie's exploits on here but I'd be worn out attempting even half of what he gets up to! He's certainly inspirational but you seem to have a lot of fun stuff from your past too. When you're able, go look up those friends and try for a visit.
I'm watching a film just now, which is a good one as I've seen it before, but it just might send me to the land of nod. It's on quiet and I've not heard any more wheezing from my chap for a while, so he's probably there.
Yes, you try for some sleep, then you'll be alert for the appointment. I'll wish you night night, and we can chat soon hon xxx
