My husband - Chris - died on the 2nd May 2009 because he had anal cancer. He knew he was going and we spoke about lots and lots of things before he died. That is why I am just not prepared for the huge amount of guilt I feel now. I feel guilty that the world hasn't stopped turning round even though he has died. I feel like everything should stop as a mark of respect. I also feel very guilty that he had to be so ill he had to die. What a cruel cruel thing it is to make someone so ill their body just stops working. I wasn't ready for him to go. I really really hope these are normal feelings because I must hang on to my sanity for the sake of my 3 children. I have never known sadness like I feel right now. I can't believe that I will not hear his voice or feel his touch again. We were married for almost 32 years and I have known Chris for 34 years - since I was 16. What happens now? Ailsa

Hi everyone - I daren't say too loud but the sun is trying to shine here!  At least I think it is the sun, I haven't seen it for so long I am not sure. lol

Lynne I saw on facebook that you had a good day yesterday ... and about managing to book the wrong ticket, it made me giggle.  Lesley, hello darling, I love the idea of your meditation working so well that you fell asleep - that sounds like the sort of thing I would do!  Maderia sounds lovely.

Patrica, I lived and worked on a very, very small Greek island for a couple of years when I was in my early 20s and Boy has asked if he and I could go there for a week so I can show it to him so mother and son are travelling there in June.  As I keep hearing Greece is just about bankrupt I don't know if it will be the bargain of a lifetime or they will charge triple the normal price to try and get some pennies in the government coffers!

If this pale yellow thing in the sky keeps it up I may even venture out into the garden and plant some pots.  Although can you imagine wht the queues will be like at the Garden Centres as all us hardy Aberdonians charge out without our padded jackets on simultaneously!.

Will pop back later to see how everyone is doing.  'Til then loads of love - Judi x

Well I am obviously not getting any better at keeping up with goings on. Where have you been Lynne and Manda and how did you manage to meet up with Sharon and why was I not invited???

Judi enjoy the sunshine however watery it may be.I don't know why but |I have always fancied visiting Aberdeen so if I ever do I shall let you know so that we can meet up for lunch or something (don't hold your breath though coz it may never happen) lol.

Lesley glad to hear you are doing as well as you can. What was the name of your book?? I might try to get it.

My nephew is running the London Marathon this year so at the moment I am watching it on the television as I was unable to travel down this year to support him. I am supposed to be at a 60th birthday party this evening. I went shopping for a birthday present yesterday and came home with a new dress and shawl for me (oops).  Oh well it's only money isn't it.

Can someone please tell me what the next possible event is so that I sort myself out. Lynne, when is the fundraiser?

Ailsa I hope you are getting everything you wanted done this weekend. Just don't wear yourself out.

    Sorry for this disjointed post.

    Love and angel hugs to everyone. x x x Patricia x x x

    Hello everyone,

Glad to hear you are making positive plans Judi and I am sure you will know if you are doing the right thing or not.  Had a giggle about the 420 miles though - what are you trying to say lol.  Lynne/Manda glad you had a good lunch yesterday.  Helen, you have been very good this weekend - roll on next weekend :-) x

Well I am still absolutely exhausted.  I went out last night but lasted an hour and had to come home as felt too sick which I think is just tiredness.  And of course because I am so tired and now back and not busy I have been feeling a bit blue.  I had come home to some lovely letters from my friend who went away to Falklands and I don´t think that helped as that has made me miss him as I hadn´t heard from him in a while so assumed I wouldn´t hear from him but it was just the post that was slow.  He told me to listen to a song (Mountains by Biffy Clyro?) which was very nice but sad so had a little cry over Wully and him (very warped!) last night.  Plus its the time of year (for all of us) and the past week had kept my mind off it but now I´m back I have time to think.  I am sure I will be back to normal next week once the manic kicks off again!  I have 200 emails to get through today so better get off and try and throw myself back into work.

I bought a new laptop when I was away (just in case I needed to work because I couldn´t get home) and of course the keyboard and other stuff are in Spanish.  Takes me ages to type anything as I can´t find any of the punctuation keys lol.  My own laptop wouldn´t work when I got back strangely but managed to sort it yesterday.  Also forgot to tell you about my starstruck moments.  When I was at the Eurostar in Paris, Rolando from Popstar to Operastar walked past me and smiled.  Stupidly I thought it was someone I had met on my travels and smiled back and it wasn´t until about 5 mins later it dawned on me who it was!!!  Then when I was on the train from London to Glasgow, Miss Hooley from Balamory and Greg Hemphill from Still Game sat down beside me and smiled and again I thought it was someone I knew (what an eejit!).  They then had to move as they were in the wrong seats but that would have been cool as the train was 4.5hrs long so missed a chance to chat to them lol.  Very starstruck lol.

    Take care everyone.

Hi everyone.  Welcome home Gayle - what an adventure you have had but you are right - it will have done your confidence a world of good.  Well done with carrying on getting those tools sorted out Bren.  Pity you didn't see more of Liverpool when you visited - I loved it.  Good luck with the group.  My counselling has helped me a lot.  I think next week is my last one but I have benefitted from just having someone to talk to about Chris and emptying some of the awful things that have been going round in my head.  I feel calmer - just sad instead of panicky now.

I have only read some post so far but will read some more very soon.  Most of the stuff from becky's old hose  is in the new now.  It took 5 trips with my van and 8 with a friend estate car to shift everything!!!  I can't wait for them to move back to yorkshire but I think we might need to get the professionals in for that move.  We have been organising the new house this morning but we are off back to the old one this aft to clean up and empty the garage.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.  Ailsa xxx

Just read a couple more posts while I have a chance - Becky is showering before she gives me more jobs to do!  Lynne Gordon would be so please his drums were going to be used by a young lad just starting out.  Chris's PA is still in a friends unit but Stu thinks he wants to use it otherwise I would have given it to a youth music group by now for the same reason.  Hope you have great fun on your York trip - wouldn't it be nice if the two groups could get together at sometime.

Rosemary as soon as I get back from here on Tuesday we should finalise our meeting details.  I will ring you on Wednesday or Thursday if that is okay.  Hope everything is okay with Sam.  Sounds like you are busy outdoors.  I have lots to do in my garden etc but it will have to wait until this move is finished.

I will read a bit more and then be back.  Ailsa xx

Welcome hom Gayle, what a journey you have had.  Patricia hope you are feeling better after your bumps and bruises.

I had a good day yesterday cleaning with a friend who came to help, I now have a clean house which is a first for a long time for me.  Didn't finish all the tools but did get a lot of junk out and have more boxes of junk that will go this week.  I am sore all over from all that work!  But glad to have done it and nice to have such a good friend to help out.  Today has turned raining hard and cold so Max and I may go for a drive but otherwise will stay quiet.

Wouldn't you know, my BIL is coming on Sat for the car and my car is acting up.  I have to phone my mechanic tomorrow and hope he can look at it while I still have another car to drive myself to work with.  It is such a pain trying to sort out these things alone, I would have to drop the car afterwork and walk home, 1/2 hour but up a very long hill and do the same to pick it up or get someone to drive me - I hate asking people for things.  I will sort it this week somehow.

Going to have a busy month, bil visit next weekend, he will help out with some things around the house while he is here.  Then the 24th is a long weekend in Canada, Victoria Day for the Queen's birthday.  I will go to Ottawa and stay with another BIL and SIL and the one who is getting the car will turn 50 that weekend so they are having the family there for a gathering because I will be in Ottawa.  So will be a little reunion of Dan's family.   Garden centers are open now so I must go and see about getting a tree to plant in Gaspe in July.  Busy really helps me stay on an even emotional plane.

Huge hugs and love to all who are coming up to special anniversaries and days soon, I know there are a lot soon.

    Welcome Sharon

    Love Bren
