My husband - Chris - died on the 2nd May 2009 because he had anal cancer. He knew he was going and we spoke about lots and lots of things before he died. That is why I am just not prepared for the huge amount of guilt I feel now. I feel guilty that the world hasn't stopped turning round even though he has died. I feel like everything should stop as a mark of respect. I also feel very guilty that he had to be so ill he had to die. What a cruel cruel thing it is to make someone so ill their body just stops working. I wasn't ready for him to go. I really really hope these are normal feelings because I must hang on to my sanity for the sake of my 3 children. I have never known sadness like I feel right now. I can't believe that I will not hear his voice or feel his touch again. We were married for almost 32 years and I have known Chris for 34 years - since I was 16. What happens now? Ailsa

Good evening all.  I had a bit of time in the garden as well today Helen.  I was feeling ready to tackle a few jobs and decided to replenish Chris's bird feeders.  The shoots for the bulbs are appearing already.  I have 2 badly broken plant pots from the cold so I will ahve to get them changed.

Gayle - how I remember this time of year and Chris's tax returns when he was self employed.  At least I only had to do one.  Good luck with them.

I was able to get some fresh flowers on Chris's grave on Friday afternoon and it looks so much better now.  I was doing exactly the same thing as you Judi and telling him all about our meet while I worked on the flowers.

Bren I will have to make sure I put some photos from Liverpool on here once I have been - what a shame you & Dan missed it.

I had best get off as I need to do some ironing before bed tonight.  Take care everyone.  Ailsa xxx

A thought just came to me for Judi.  Meant to post this earlier.  Have you thought about doing work for Macmillan?  I do book reviews for them through this website.  I have done a few and they post them out to you, you read them and then tell them what you think.  I have two on the go at the moment that I need to get my finger out and get back to them lol.

Gayle - you are a very resourceful lady - how did you hear about/get into that?  I think something like that would be excellent.

Judi - if you click on get involved then go and register at cancer voices.  I have been doing it for a while and two of the publications have been full books and have been relevant to my experiences but the one I got last week is about breast cancer and its like a booklet.  They are always looking for help.  There are loads of different types of vacancies some are more involved that others.  There was a really good one a while back which was to do with generating fundraising ideas which I would have liked to have done because I have done a lot of charity fundraising in the past and enjoyed it but it was too much time involved for me at the moment.  Like I said though there are all different types of ways you can help online and the people at Macmillan are great to deal with.  I got one book just when Wully died and they were lovely and supportive.
