My husband - Chris - died on the 2nd May 2009 because he had anal cancer. He knew he was going and we spoke about lots and lots of things before he died. That is why I am just not prepared for the huge amount of guilt I feel now. I feel guilty that the world hasn't stopped turning round even though he has died. I feel like everything should stop as a mark of respect. I also feel very guilty that he had to be so ill he had to die. What a cruel cruel thing it is to make someone so ill their body just stops working. I wasn't ready for him to go. I really really hope these are normal feelings because I must hang on to my sanity for the sake of my 3 children. I have never known sadness like I feel right now. I can't believe that I will not hear his voice or feel his touch again. We were married for almost 32 years and I have known Chris for 34 years - since I was 16. What happens now? Ailsa

    Hi Gayle
It is the opposite for me the council were brilliant and picked up Liams alarm system within a couple of days. Liam never minded that bit of equipment in fact he had to use it on the first day we had it installed! I had gone to get a haircut and half way through my phone rang, so had to make a dash for it with half a haircut to pick Liam up after one of his falls. It was after this that his health really began to deteriate and I didn't get my haircut until last week as I couldn't leave him for more than a few minutes. Your right the kids do help by forcing you to get on with life there are so many times I wish I could disappear somewhere and never have to face things again.
On the positive side I decided to join a gym today, it has been many a year since I went to one but I used to really enjoy it so I thought it would be good not only for something to fill my time and thoughts but also to help vent off some of the anger i am feeling.
Tomorrow am off to put deposit down on a Honda Jazz, dad informs via which car that they are reliable and have low running costs so fingers crossed. Other than that don't have any other plans for the weekend although I'm sure the girs will have something to say about that later.

Hi everyone, another good day at work. The children keep me busy.

Debs I have joined a gym and I really enjoy it. If I`m feeling a bit low it really gives me a boost. My son and daughter have kept me going too, they have done so well carrying on with exams and still getting good grades despite everything!!

Not much planned here for the weekend, hairdressers in the morning and weekly shop. Still need to put daughter`s curtain rail up so might try and get that done.

Sue glad you had a good day, you`ll be ready for the weekend even after 2 days!!!

Lynne good luck at your party, I suppose thinking about it a lot of the occasions I have been to have been with son and daughter. A couple of times with best friends but they`re like family really xxx

Gayle I have got bits to put on e bay, need to sort it all out.

Fiona make you sure you look after you too xxx

Have a good night everyone xxx Hope Kev and everyone else is ok

Hi Debs, Sounds like a good car. I just bought a BMW last Sunday and it still isn't ready. I am ready to explode at the garage. The person who had it before had a personalised plate on it and they have taken it off and are still waiting on the registration docs which means they can't tax it. I gave them what for today and they are going to give me another one tomorrow until my car is ready.

Wully too had to use the alarm. Although I say he used it, it was actually me that pressed it as I couldn't lift him. They had to come out with one of those inflatable cushions that push the person up if you know what I mean? He had one really nasty fall where he knocked himself out - he was walking with his zimmer whilst eating a bowl of cereal in the kitchen and of course fell and knocked himself out on the tiles - I was in bed sleeping as it was still really early. He got a rollicking for that and I took away the walking frame at bedtime as I couldn't trust him to not go wandering when I was in my bed (he slept downstairs and I was upstairs). He was really confused with the meds at times so would do silly things that he really shouldn't be doing. The wardens were great it was just the admin staff that were a bit insensitive at times. Glad you joined the gym - you can swap notes with Helen!

Glad school was okay Helen & Sue. My Jamie got a headteacher award this week!!!! He was an effective contributor whatever that means lol! Was really proud although another of those moments where you want to rush home and tell your husband.

Well off to bath the monsters and then put my feet up as I am really tired and think I will have an early night. 2 year old birthday party in the morning to look forward to ;-)

Helen glad your children have been such a support for you to and congratulations to them for their success you must be so very proud of them. You must give me some tips for the gym!!

Gayle I know the cushion that you talk about as we had one on order we had to wait as it needed to have sides on it so was a special order. Still i guess I have to be thankful that that is one less thing to be picked up!! I was quite lucky in having older children we were able to get Liam up between us apart from one occaision when I was on my own outside and then we had to call an ambulance. Poor Liam felt so mortified at laying there on the pavement. He had some really awful falls(broken ribs and cuts and horrendous bruises) as he had no balance and weakness down one side of the body, it didn't help as he had awful short term memory so couldn't remember that he couldn't walk without the support of me or his trolley. But he was the sort of bloke that never asked for help and so determined to do as much for himself as he could that he just accepted the falls as part of his condition.
Well done to Jamie, its amazing how proud you feel for your kids when they get any sort of award. Stacey my youngest has had a really good start to her new school she seems to be relishing having to be so grown up. She is normally the sort of girl that goes to school to socialise!! But seems to be really trying or maybe that is just the newness!!
Hope everyone has a good weekend

Well, it is good to see that people are getting back to work and kids back to school. I hope things are begining to get a little easier for most of you. Lynne, I am exhausted reading about your exploits in the garden. How resourceful you are. Kevin glad you are starting to move on with your life. Debs welcome to the thread but sorry you are in this position. Gayle well done to the wee man. Fiona, hope things are a little easier with dad at the moment. Sue and Helen hope the kids are not too trying this term. Ailsa and Dot hope you are finding life a little less stressful. Anyone I missed please forgive me and I hope you are ok.
This Sunday my niece is having a baby blessing ceremony for her baby son Isaac. It is in a Morman church and I have never been to one of these ceremonies so am unsure exactly what happens. Should be interesting.
Sleep well everyone and have as good a weekend as you can.
    Love and angel hugs x x Patricia x x

Morning all Well its just a uick one again , as my daughter and 1 daughter in law have asked me to go a boot sale to help them , so will be there most of the day , i just want to get on with the garden , hope the weather holds up for tommorow . I cant say i really enjoyed the party , i only knew the few that went from work and the place was , how can i say it ,,,,,,, a bit rough .. I managed to stick it out tho and didn't cry untill i got home so that was an achievment in itself . Oh well thats another first out the way . There was one funny incident and yes it can only happen to me !!! i went to the toilet and as i washing my hands i was reading a big notice on the wall that said "ANYONE FOUND DEFACING THESE WALLS WILL BE FORCIBLY EXCORTED FROM THE BUILDING " i was just thinking who would deface the walls when i pressed the blower to dry my hands and the whole lot fell off in my hands aghhhh , i was left looking at wires and things . I put it on the ground quickly and i was looking round to see if i'd been set up or something , i didn't wait to find out ran fron the toilets (laughing )and sat down .. Oh well it did make me laugh to think someone might try and forcibly exit me , i would have liked them too , it might have got me home earlier .
Hope you all have a good day , sorry i've not replied to all the posts but i have read them ..
You girls i dont know what i'd do without you (and Kev ) .

    dear Lynne
well done for going to the party- another step in the right direction.
I laughed out loud at the story of the hand dryer - what with that and the balloons escaping you seem a bit accident prone!
    enjoy the boot sale!

Hope you have an uneventful day at the boot sale and don't cause too much mayhem or you may get "booted out" lol. Love x x Patricia x x
