Good morning, here we are now day 11 post chemo numero uno and I'm entering the "danger zone", ..... breaks into the song "highway to the danger zone" from the film top gun I think it was.........

I'm a 48 year old mother and went to the doctor in May2018 with itchiness under my boob that just would not go away. The doctor gave me an examination and found a lump .... the other side of my boob to the itching! Fast forward to the breast clinic...........Mamogram..Hmm looks suspicious, lets have a biopsy, ........Jackpot you have breast cancer! Last night I was awake ( I thought) thinking all sorts when I heard a cat come up the stairs and into our room. It leapt up and sat on my head. I tried to shout out my husband’s name but try as I might nothing came out! Ever wanted to kiss another man in front of your husband. Well...….I could have well and truly snogged my consultant when he gave me the news, but luckily for him, I just cried with joy.
He said...…. the top diagnostic radiologists have studied my test results, and they agree that, although there are abnormalities, which can only be expected from the Radiotherapy I had 11 years ago, they are 95% certain that I am CANCER FREE.

Almost 9 months post surgery. Where has the time gone?
Just completed my second follow-up with the oncologist. He did an ultrasound on my abdomen and all appears to be fine. He did say that he wanted me to have a PET scan in October. Naturally the fear kicks in, so I asked if that was a normal part of the process. He explained that the ultrasound only covers the abdomen. The CT scan I had in June covers from the thorax to the pelvis whereas the PET scan covers the whole body from head to toe. I guess...
On Tuesday this week I had my 7th chemo treatment so only 5 more to go though I know the last 3 will be stronger. I must be prepared in case there are more side effects! I haven't written my blog for some weeks as each week is following the same pattern. The days on which I have the immunity boosting injections still tend to be the worst though nothing i can't cope with. They make me achy and even more tired than usual.
