6 years ago i was diagnosed with lung cancer. I had a significant tumour on the bottom lobe of my left lung. The tumour, known to me and my daughter from the day it was discovered as Terry the tumour, was surgically removed along with the bittom lobe of my lung.
Cancer cells were found in one if the sample lymph nodes that were removed so I started adjuvent chemo. One session and it was stopped because i had a bad allergic reaction.

They say everything comes in threes. First, my bladder cancer, second my partner has two suspicious looking moles on his legs. He is very fair skinned and covered in moles. These two are not like the others though, red, rough and uneven. And they appear to be getting bigger. He's seeing the doctor on Monday. Third, a small lump I've had for years appears to be growing bigger. I'm waiting for the doctor to ring me. Meanwhile, I am praying these things are not malignant. Fingers crossed....
The following Spring i.e. this Spring the lump reappeared around Easter time as it got sunnier.
It started to become red and bleed when I itched it. I told myself, "You've already been told it's benign" so I didn't go to my GP who might think I was being over anxious. A lump looking like a sty developed on my lower eyelid. My very good optician, when I had my eyes retested for my glasses, thought it might be a 'rodent ulcer' and wrote to my GP. Of course I looked up what that was! Oh oh! My GP referred to eye unit as urgent. Phone call within days to book me into a triage clinic but concerns that eyelid surgeon not available and about to leave.
Specialist doctor called triage consultant in. Said very suspicious, very urgent. I've never seen two doctors...
This cancer thing seems so much harder for my partner than for me. He gets really upset although it appears we have caught it in time as it hasn't spread. The thing is it keeps bringing me down. I'm a glass half full person and want to feel positive but he's so worried about what will happen to him and the dog if I die. We are in council housing and I am applying to have my partner's name on the tenancy agreement. It's a bit of a process and we don't know if they'll say yes. We have no savings so...
4th Rchop uneventful - good Ned from consultants that the mass is 'resolving nicely' albeit leaving a squashed bit of small bowel that may need resection - but will leave that decision until end of chemo - 2 to go. Still to decide on radiotherapy as that might hit the bowel too hard
So much to decide still!
Good couple of weeks and got away for a few days in Port Isaac - snookered this week so resting ahead of daughter's wedding this Sunday
