    Hi Again

You may remember in October that we had some great news regarding the rewards of the treatment that Dal has been on. We are still reeling from these great results, but we are also back to just waiting on the next update. I find that quiet difficult personally!

Nose Bleeds - this had been one of the side effects that Dal had been experiencing, they started out of the blue and seem to have stopped just as quickly.

Numb fingers and toes - this continues, it is quite painful and takes a lot...

  • After cancer
    Coping with the after effects.

WOW. I FEEL BRILLIANT. Over the moon. Ecstatic. How many more words can I use to describe how I feel today? I have had the most horrendous 4 years of my life. It started in 2016 when my mum died suddenly in a freak accident. In 2017 my favourite aunt who was extremely special to me passed away 10 days after being diagnosed with cancer and my dad died of the prostate cancer he had been fighting for 3 years. In 2018 my beloved mother-in-law passed away after years of suffering and in March...

    Cancer and Covid- Ruth's Story

Ruth's Story- cancer and covid written in white over a picture of rows of green seats in a waiting room

October is Breast cancer awareness month and to mark this, Ruth sharing her cancer experience of being diagnosed with Breast cancer during the Coronavirus pandemic. Ruth talking about becoming a mum and being diagnosed, all during a national lockdown.

I never thought I would be diagnosed with breast cancer, at 32, with a 7-week-old baby. I also never thought that I would be on my own when I heard those fateful words. But thanks to Covid and a nationwide lockdown, I was.

I had found a lump in my...

Approaching 3 years post treatment: Focusing on challenging myself

Have been away for rather a while and inevitably lost touch with a number of contacts on the site, as life has returned to a degree of normal (see below!).

In a month's time, I will be 3 years post-treatment for HNC (primary was left tonsil and secondaries in neck). Have had clear scans since, but for some time I have had discomfort around the surgical site. I have put this down to the fairly constant mucus issue and

I still have sensitivity to spicy foods as the tongue just doesn't seem to be...
