    Waiting and more infections

I had 6 relaxing days in Holland lots of sleep good eating and support felt refreshed and symptoms not bothering me when i arived back in the Uk sunday.  This week has seen me get yet another infection two visits to the GP and alot more tablets.  Despite painkillers I was suffering sharp pain in the lower pelvic area and tops of my legs yesterday evening.  I have no idea if this is normal with Womb Cancer ?  I have had a bit of bleeding again despite tablets to stop this.

  • Sad times....
    Emotional rollercoaster

Dad had been ill for around a month up to Christmas, but had been diagnosed with gallstones, and booked in for a more detailed scan, following an ultrasound finding a shadow on his liver. He worked full time up until Christmas, and it was only in January when he was signed off by his GP. He had lost a lot of weight and kept being sick, and had stomach pain, therefore his GP prescribed him strong painkillers. He took a turn for the worse on 7th February, so we convinced him to see his GP to get him...

    Sad days

    hi lovely people
    this is my first blog

I am so sad because I see my lovely sister getting more weak as the days progress. she was re-diagnosed last May with secondaries to breast cancer and was very sick. we felt she'd hidden how poorly she had become from maybe January of last year.

she was so unwell then it was scary.

but she rallied and decided to fight it with the horrors of chemo. but they couldn't isolate it (said it was the omentum- this is the tissue that carries blood supply to the...

  • You have Months rather than Years" - What can we expect now ???
How do I hold it together ??

Last week I was told, upon asking for a prognosis from the consultant, that my dad has "months rather than years and how many we just don't know"....I'm not sure how much actually went in after the M word... I only heard my heart break into a million tiny pieces.

My Dad's had a 3 yr battle and it would seem that this is now a war that we won't win... should I give up hope now?, start facing facts and be realistic?... I just don't know.  Inside I'm screaming, outside...

  • The page in the book I never wanted to read.....
    .....
Another busy week ahead. My stepdaughter is visiting so I don't have a lot of time free at the moment. I am being kept busy which is brilliant for keeping my mind of things, however I know the appointment for my result to be confirmed is getting closer and closer. I asked my gp if she thought a second opinion was appropriate and she thought not, she fee,s confident in the care I'll receive and until I get my results confirmed she doesn't really want ti address the idea. So is has been out on...

  • My Blog!
    *sigh* Results....

Yesterday we went down to the Royal Free, London, to get Dad's latest MRI results which would tell us if he could have a resection. After a few months of having PVE's to try and enlarge the liver (already small due to naturally having a small liver) to give it enough volume/function, we were told that the latest PVE had enlarged the liver, but not enough. First bit of bad news. However, the Dr then said that Dads liver volume was borderline ok, only just not enough. Apparently, the liver volume needs...

I was diagonised with vulva cancer and operated on 25 October 2011, I also had lymph nodes in right and left groin removed.  Luckily cancer hadnt spread so didnt need any further treatment.  However, i have started itching again and have had no periods for last eight weeks.  What if its back????  How do they test if it has returned.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi, Ok here goes: I was managing to go to Fabes mums place most days. Fabe was very ill and moved back home as he needed a hospital bed there and was on oxygen. Most days we sat holding hands and sometimes watched a film when he was awake. On the wednesday when I was there he was paricularly ill and I told his mum if things were to get worse to call the hospital. The next day was that Fabe was in hospital he had a cardiac arrest and they managed to revive him. He managed to tell his mum...

Making the most of the time you have left

I'm the niece of a man with cancer. A man with quick wit; creative genius; boundless intelligence; an affinity with the natural world; unique handwriting; scratchy woollen jumpers; a distinguished beard; an eye for light and colour; a taste for coffee and red wine; an aptitude in conversation with anyone approaching or at a crossroads; an interest in history; an apetite for culture; humility; humour; a genuinely original way with words; and cancer; terminal cancer.

He was just diagnosed a few...
