Hi,
Well my name is Anne (53), married 31 years with 3 sons and living in Aberdeen. My eldest son gave us our 1st grandchild 2 weeks ago, young Tommy & my middle son gets married in one week's time, a week to the day since my diagnosis.
I felt bad that this thing was to cause them hurt in such happy times in their lives but it's not something i had any choice in!
15th July 2010: a change in my normal routine of BM took me to the GP
7th Aug: colonoscopy gave me an immediate diagnosis...
Lots happening this week. Dad was taken into hopsital on sunday and had 2 transfusions to 'boost him up' on Monday (Mum's b'day). We got him home in the evening but he looked no better! He was beginning to perk up by wednesday and saw the gp to get ball rolling regarding hospice introduction.
I can totally understand why he doesn't want to think of it at the moment but he needs to realise they can help in the interim, not solely at the end, it would help mum catch some hours here...
Oh dear, not written anything throughout my entire cancer journey, have made a note to self, to sit and work backwards throughout this nightmare, and blog it, ;)

Hi Guys,
I would like to apologise for my last post, i selfishly thought that being away from here for a bit would help me get my head straight but.......................
there is no-one in the world who listens and cares the way that you guys do.
In the 3 days i have not logged on to the site i have been a mess and i thing that it was a big mistake it isn't a break from you guys that i need at all, i actually need to grieve and stop pretending i am fine.
I am ok i am not falling apart at the...
What then followed were without question some of the worst weeks of life. I couldn't concentrate at work and took some time off sick with 'anxiety'. I just wanted to find out as much as I can to try and make contingency plans for work (can you tell I'm a project manager?). This need to find out details is one of my coping mechanisms and I personally find it very helpful (there are those who say I shouldn't read up on things and I strongly disagree with them). Knowledge gives...
I had hoped to be seen within the week but my appointment date came in for the end of the 2 week NICE guidline which was a shame.
I drove by myself to the local hospital where a specialist breast cancer clinic is run each week. The consultant reviewed my history, did the physicial breast exam to confirm the lump existed. I can't remember the order... I think he then did a sonagram because the radiologist for the ultrasound was on holiday. Next he sent me for a mammogram with instructions...
... any news of Forevaautumn ? It's been months since she was last in the chat room, and I've sent several private emails , but there's been no reply. I'm worried.........
Had my second week of CMF today - one more cycle to go! No recurrence yet of the terrible sickness week thank goodness - touch wood!
Had a bit of back ache today and a tender spot around the back which has felt better as the day goes on. I find it difficult with these sorts of things - I surely got occasional aches and pains before all this kicked off, but now it of course gets magnified a hundred fold into something more serious! I have to tell myself constantly that something concerning would...
Seems all i do at minute is too wait for appointments next one on 23 august where they will finally decide how to treat me or not cant wait!
mean while still trying to carry on with life as normal probly in denile, still doing cycle racing and training even though its becoming increasingly hard to maintain a decent level of fitness to compete.
