    Animals do the.....

    …….naughtiest things!

Who said pets are good for you? Therapeutic? Reduce stress levels? Excuse me whilst I splutter into my cup of tea.

The Bad Fairy household is a bit of a zoo. Not a proper zoo, we don’t have a giraffe, a hippopotamus nor an elephant. (Although the jury is out on the elephant after a rather large hole appeared in the bottom field…..suspicions have been voiced that a rogue elephant may be trying to break in!)

We did have some orphaned lambs that...

    Confusion - getting concerned

My partner goes in hospital on Friday for a lymphendectomy. He has had melonoma outside the body for the past 5 years on and off. The news that it had spread to the inside left me with a feeling in the pit of my stomach I cant explain. I have read many stories on here about this operation but none about follow up treatment or possible outcomes. We havent been told anything other than the biopsies and CT scan show it has spread to the lymph nodes in the groin and under the armpits. The consultant just...

    Just a month, wow!

Just worked it out and it a bit over a month since the operation, blimey doesn't time fly!  Knowing, that I'm pleased at the progress I'm making in getting back to normal, everyone was telling me it would be so slow.  Hopefully it just means I am doing well and I won't get a big suprise later on that I will regret.

  • My breast cancer chemo diary
Well into CMF now and started Herceptin.

Hiya all, well I feel icky this morning.  Had a weekend of 'excess' as went to a wedding and had lots of food and some beers on the Friday.  Didn't feel too bad while there but got home last night and - bleugh - out it all came!  Since I haven't thrown up in years I found this mildly concerning, but apart from a tight tum this morning it's not reoccurred.  Rather annoyed as had had some good fruit and stuff and it was all wasted!

I did wonder if it was a reaction to the Herceptin...

    A good weekend

OK, three weeks to the SNB, WLE all being well - not actually got a date, but that's the list I'm supposed to be on, max. Had a good weekend, though I had to get up at 5:00 a.m. Saturday as I'd got my thoughts in a loop. as soon as I wa upright I was fine - listened to old radio programmes on Radio 7 - "Listen Again" a fantastic blessing in the night. Got all my ironing done before Penny got up at 8:00 (My grandfather was a ship's steward, my mother expected men to look after themselves :0)...

  • Another part of the journey
    Eve

Tomorrow Mick (hubby) starts his "pallative" chemo. We are so unsure what to expect regards side effects, but then so is everyone in this position. I know he is concerned because the information given says that it can cause breathlessness - when he is so breathless to start with. He is also keeping a lot to himself, I know he doesn't want to worry me, but it still doesn't stop me having sleepless nights.

The weather isn't helping - it rained all day yesterday so we were virtually...

One year on folks! Amazing journey through emotions, trials and tribulations...but here and alive!

Hello to all you wonderful people.  This is my first blog, yep I have been a member of this fab website for over a year now, I was diagnosed finally with AML January 09, at the local hospital A+E as I was dying, my GP failed to do anything about my illness for 3 visits, and eventually my partner..god love him grabbed me out of bed and dragged my sorry bones to the hospital for help.  I was admitted straight away with ridiculous blood results, given a bone marrow test and then sent by ambulance to the...
