So.....S has no appetite today ... she didn't have yesterday either . She feels sick ,She is dry vomiting , has a tummy paiin and is sleeping all the time and has the shakes ...........all symptoms of when this fecking nightmare started.At her pre op assessment , two days ago , she had an MRSA test taken , height and weight measurements taken and a blood sample . So......S has been told she can eat what she wants ( except fried food , which she doesn't anyway ) before her ovarian cancer op . I'm a bit suspicious of this . Surely eating certain foods can be beneficial when having the condition ?....or so many online articles and books written by dieticians and nutrition experts say . So......today S goes to hospital for her assessment before her ovarian cancer op in a couple of weeks . All these Onc nurses / Macmillan nurses all say to keep to a usual routine , and so from getting a letter yesterday saying arrive on a date mid July at 07.30hrs and not to have meals & drink this stuff to do something or other ..today , at her assessment , the mac nurse says that S is to call the day before…
Tues. 28th June
S received a letter from the hospital today . She now has to be there at 07.30 with the op in the afternoon . So , it's a wake up at 05.30 and I've had to book another day off.....a day I wish i could have used for S another time .
Wed 20 June.
We went to see S's surgeon to have the operation explained to us and for us to ask questions ( PMSL at this last part ). We were given a lift by S's line manager / friend . So we sat in Clinic 3 and S's had to fill in more sodding paperwork . AND THEN THE REALITY OF THE SITUATION HITS YOU AGAIN .
