I saw the oncologist yesterday. Charming man, very tall and difficult to follow his speech as he talks very fast and wishes to communicate so much information that his words become convoluted.

The outcome was that I am on the correct treatment for my stage of the disease. My symptoms from the bicalutamide may improve so that I am less tender on the chest.  If and when the metastases in my pelvic bones cease to be controlled…

Had my first injection of Pentapeptyl yesterday and walked home afterwards.  Felt energetic enough to do some hours of useful work in the garden.

Today a bit stiff in the back and hips but otherwise OK.  I wonder how things will shape up in the future.  Feeling cheerful and optimistic right now but I know moods can hit me.  Due to stop the bicalutamide in two weeks' time.

Very good day today. Why? I just don't understand it.

Yesterday was bad. So tired in the afternoon that I lay on the bed and slept an hour or so.  Pains in the neck and head came on after breakfast and stayed most of the day. Took the usual ibuprofen tabs with little effect. I felt low and depressed about the whole prospect with dire thoughts about future secondary spread and the chemo that I might have to take.

Young people with me in the house.  Grandson and his girlfriend.  Talking with them as we don't see them very often is uplifting for me.  I forget for a while that I have a diagnosis.  They are reassuring as they say I look well.  We go out around the village and talk a lot and meet people we know.  Young people can be such a help to the older ones without appearing to try.  Wonderful company.

    I haven't made a blog entry…

Better day but still feel very tired whenever I sit down.  Side effect of my weedkiller probably.

Walked into the lane and found some builders knocking down a brick wall. So one of them and I took barrow-loads of these bricks and rubble into my garden so I can use them to finish my wall.  Fantastic luck!  Made my day as I had run out of building bricks & blocks for the wall.  Now I can press on.

    Exercise tired me but…
