Just wondering if there is any link between a mass being P53 wild type, MMR proficient and the likelihood or not of having the BRCA genes?
Currently awaiting genetic testing but I already know that my tumour was MMR proficient, hormone positive and P53 wild type.
Hi Glass not full,
It was explained to me that the P53 wild type is a tumour suppressor gene and that it suggests that there is not a genetic change in the cells. P53 abhorrent is where there is a genetic change. So P53 wildtype could be considered the better version. But remember we are not medically trained on here so am just talking from my own experiences.
I am not sure if or how it would link with BRCA. Maybe give the Support Line a call and ask one of the nurses.
We do have a forum concerned with BRCA and it may be that you find some info from people who have had the testing on there. I'll pop a link in case you want to have a look.

Hope that you do not have to wait too long for the genetic testing.
