Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 5mths ago at the age of 52yrs. I have struggled with ascetis and had 4 fluid drainages the first 2 mths. I had 5 chemo and 3 weeks ago I've had debulking surgery. Now after the results of the biopsies, I was told yesterday that it is endometrial cancer and not ovarian. It was a shock. They're going to change treatment and I should start immunotherapy. Has anyone been through this? I'm really scared and lost.

I am sorry to hear that you have had a diagnosis of cancer and understand it came as a shock after your original diagnosis. I am sorry to hear that you have been struggling with ascites.
I hope that you are recovering ok from your surgery.
I also had chemo for my cancer and often the chemo they use for ovarian is the same regime as for endometrial cancer. Mine was carboplatin and paclitaxel. How are you feeling after the chemo? I know it can be a tough treatment to go through.

I can understand that you are feeling scared and a bit lost at the moment. It can be tough to go through one treatment and then being told you need another type- especially when you are recovering from major surgery. We do have the Support Line that is available from 8am-8pm everyday if it would help to talk things through.
I wish you well with your recovery and with your immunotherapy treatment. In the meantime if there is anything you need, then you know where we are.
