Hello all. Haven't been on the forum for some years. Had removal of everything in December 2014 with stage 3A endometrial cancer and then had 5 weeks of adjuvant radiotherapy. All had been well apart from the long term side effects of the radiotherapy (usual bowel problems). Just today noticed I have had a small vaginal bleed - dark colour. Has anyone got any clue as to whether I should be worried about this please?. Many thanks from Pambly
Hi , i agree with Amycdi although it may well be nothing to worry about any concerns like this I would always say see the Doctor, get it checked out, if nothing else for your reassurance. I certainly hope that it’s nothing to worry over and I have my fingers crossed for you.
sending gentle bear hugs

Hello Pambly, I would also say speak to your go or CNS if you are still in touch as its always worth checking any bleeding out. I am just over two years post op, I was stage 1A grage 1 and am on the patient initiated follow up, just this week I have called them as I noticed a couple of spots of bright red blood on the toilet paper, this I am almost sure is from a sore patch I have caused by vaginal dryness, this has happened to me once before. My CNS agreed with me but said she would speak to one of the doctors as they might want to see me to check this out, yesterday I received an appointment in the post for later in November, I'm glad I'm getting it checked out even though there's been no more spots of blood!
Wishing you all the best.
Hi It's always best to get it checked out so contact your CNS if you still have her number or GP if not.
Out of interest if you don't mind me asking what are your long term side effects after brachy - I had mine a year ago exactly and have noticed a change in habits which is a little concerning.
Hugs, Barb x

Hi Barb, I didn't have brachy, I had external radiotherapy and it has left me with bowel problems including occasional faecal incontinence. My consultant advised trying to eat a white diet, i. e white bread, white rice etc and less fibre from fruit etc..sort of the opposite to what is considered a healthy diet. It hasn't really improved it but I decided it was a small price to pay overall. It just makes you very aware of where toilets are and carrying spare undies etc as I only get seconds notice of needing to get to the loo. I have had this for nearly 6 years now. Hope you are not in a similar position x
Hello Ladies. I have seen the gynecology nurse practitioner and after a thorough Examination was advised it is vaginal atrophy which has caused bleed in all likelihood as skin was very dry and thin. Such a relief. Thank you to all of you who messaged. Onwards and upwards to us all xx
Great news for you merry Christmas all the best xxx
