Hi everyone
I was diagnosed with grade 1b endometrial cancer. Just before my hysterectomy I was told my cancer was p53 positive and could be more aggressive. Not much information given at p53 but I understand it's a mutant gene and my tumour suppression function doesnt work.
Phone call yesterday to say post op hysterectomy results show spread to lymph nodes and the cancer is now stage 3. I am scheduled for chemoradiation in the new year. From what I have read it says p53 positive cancer is resistant to treatment though consultant says it does respond.
I am petrified and will find it hard to get through the festive season. Has anyone experienced anything like this.
Hi Zebralynn/Debbie,
Sorry for late reply I have been busy to say the least over Christmas, making the most of feeling okay. Good luck with your treatment and I know what you mean about keeping busy, I do that and often forget I even have this horrible disease. I work from home so have been working and I enjoy the routine. Wishing you all the best for the New Year and keep us posted xxx
When do you start your chemo? I have a follow-up appt on Jan 8th and I will know then when mine start.
Hi Debbie
Glad you feeling well and keeping busy. I feel really well so its hard to believe I have this horrible disease. It's a week today that I learnt I had stage 3 and it still hasnt really sunk in.
Must be nice to work from home the distraction is good for you.
I have a consultation on 8th January so should soon start treatment.
Take care and keep in touch.
Debbie x
Hi My Story,
I had my third chemo on 21 December so halfway through. I was so nervous starting chemo but it's been very bearable for me, more or less leading a normal life, just one to two days of pains. I lost my hair two weeks after first chemo. Everyone is different but it didn't upset me the way I thought it would. Good luck for your follow up appointment and if I can help with any questions please ask x
Thank u so much for responding sounds like u r doing really well. I wish u a full recovery!
Already had my hysterectomy will start my chemo in january
Good luck with the chemo. I've met some wonderful people in the chemo unit, I found the op harder than I'm finding chemo. I had 25 staples and bowels took ages to recover. Feel bit of a wimp as most stories I read on here people sailed through op . Enjoy rest of Christmas break and happy new year to us all x
Hi Debbie
I've had my op got a consultation on 8th January.
Glad you doing well stay in touch.
