Hi Ladies, I hope everyone is doing well. I got my Covid results today and they were negative so I’m off to hospital for surgery tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether it’s okay to take my regular co-codamol painkillers tomorrow morning as usual? I’m allowed a bit of toast at 7am and would be taking them then. I’ve tried contacting my CNS but got the answer machine. I’ve left a message in the hope she gets back to me before tomorrow morning. I’m just worried about my medication causing problems with whatever I need to have for surgery, or is this just the little beggar playing games with my head again and making me over cautious and worrying for nothing. Thank you to everyone for all the help and support you have given me throughout this rollercoaster ride of a journey. Please take care of yourselves. I’ll pop back in once my surgery is done and dusted.

Hi, Thank you for your prompt reply. I was just reading it when my CNS called. She checked with my surgeon and I’ve to leave all medications until I’ve seen the anaesthetist tomorrow. Glad I contacted her now. Thank you again for your help.

Hi NewbieAndi,
Thank you for your reply and good wishes it’s greatly appreciated. I’m having trouble believing that I’ve finally going into hospital for surgery.
CNS has checked with surgeon, and I’ve to leave everything until I’ve seen the anaesthetist. I’m just realising that the pain meds they’ll be giving me is going to be darn sight stronger than anything I’m currently taking so probably a good idea to wait until I get there and take whatever they’re offering.

Hi Abs,
This would have been my advice! I had to starve after midnight, so was unsure if I should take blood pressure tablet, and thyroid tablet in the morning. When the anesthetist saw me he said to take the blood pressure one, and actually got me some water!! He was LOVELY!!!!
Good luck xx
Hi Angie
I was just about to send you a message. The date's finally here - I wish you all well for tomorrow sending you massive hugs
As to taking your co-codamol painkillers - I'd mention it first thing when you get there but leave off tomorrow morning. They'll sort you out with anything you need.
Big hugs, Barb xx

Thank you for your reply, I too have thyroid meds and I wasn’t sure about them. I’m sitting here at 6:20am trying to get a bit of toast down before 7am and type this while slightly bleary eyed and by the light of my Christmas tree so as not to wake everyone else. My apologies for any spelling mistakes.
