I had VIN3 operation in July, I've done all the keep it clean , pat dnt rub, im still feeling slight soarness, how long does it take to feel kinda normal again. My check up is not until September and feeling a bit anxious, thinking its going to return, me overthinking and worrying properly not helping myself.but I would appreciate other recovery stories
Hi Blondi
I had a different type of surgery so don’t have the right experience to share, but I noticed you haven’t received a reply yet, so I’m going to tag a couple of ladies from the group who might be able to help. Sharon0308 Ex Lancashire Lass
This group is one of the quieter groups, so it can take a while to get a relevant reply, but by tagging these ladies and replying to you here to bump the post, you might get some further helpful responses.
It's always a tense time waiting for the next check up, but hopefully everything will continue to go well for you. I think we can all worry that things might recur, but your last check up brought positive news about your VIN so try and hold on to that. Did you have the AIN cells investigated and have that resolved yet?

Hello Blondi, sorry about your diagnosis and surgery. I had a radical vulvectomy in June 2023 and my recovery went slow and steady. It took longer than I anticipated but did get there in the end. I suppose it depends on the extent of your surgery. I can say that I felt depressed and down hearted at the time. It took me over 18 months to get fully back to normal but I was 73 at the time of my surgery. Healing must have taken longer. Don’t let that worry you as it may be considerably shorter for you. You will know more when you get your appointment. Please message me if you have any questions. Wishing you all the best.
I had a WLE in 2022 and my tumour was 2.8mm but they removed some skin as well. It took me about 2 months to feel normal, I did not have any soreness but I did have to have a second operation to remove some lympth nodes because of the size of my tumour., but everything was good and it was only stage 1b.
The first check up is always the worst and I always feel very anxious just before my check up, it is only normal. I am currently still on check ups every 6 months at the moment. Wishing you all the best for your check up and please let us know how you get on
