Hello I'm 57 recent triple neg diagnosis, lumpectomy & removal of 2/3 lymph nodes (precaution) booked for 2 Dec. probable chemo & radio to follow, which I am dreading more than the op. I have breast implants & wondered if anyone else in my shoes?

  • Hi Wobbly1

Hope all went well today and feeling ok.

    Sending a big hug xx

  • Hi yes thanks so far so good I think.  Got a strange headache but I’m putting that down to scalp cooling which I managed but it adds a couple of hours at least onto the treatment. It’s all a bit daunting when you come home with all of the meds and injections isn’t it? When do you have your next session?  X

  • Apologies got chemo brain already!! JoyJust realised you’ve not started your treatment yet.  If I can help with any queries please don’t hesitate to ask x

  • Great, well done for using the cooling cap, I am hoping to try that too. I haven’t started yet. I presume my 1st will be end of Jan as have appointment with oncologist on 13th Jan.

Hope rest of week goes well xxx

  • Hi

Hope you had a relaxing Christmas. How are you doing? Have you had your 2nd treatment yet? I am off work for two weeks relaxing at home, am loving having my daugher is home from uni. After eating too much over Christmas am now trying to start being healthly again before treatment starts. Cannot wait till the 13th to find out the plan, think will feel better once I know what is happening xx

  • Hi Rose,

Hope you had a relaxing Christmas. I see from another post you had to have another op? How are you doing?

    Sending Hug xx

  • Hi Tanyabg Im ok thank you , Im just waiting now to start my second treatment, they seem very busy after Christmas!  Im doing ok after last one (EC), it wasn’t as bad as I had expected it to be apart from sickness on second day and quite a lot of headaches throughout. Bit disappointed with cold cap, I seem to be losing a lot of hair but I’m going to preserve!
Christmas was great wanted to make the most of it this year and we did. My appetite had really come back by then! Glad you have your daughter home with you and wish you all the best with your appointment on the 13th.  Keep in touch x

  • Hello Lovely to hear from you. Glad your daughter was home, I’m finding those normal moments really satisfying. My sons came home for xmas & I didn’t lift a finger on xmas day! Hubbie & the sons (can’t call them boys at 31 & 27!) did the dinner between them really well. It was a joy.
I suppose I tried to act as normal as possible & it was exhausting! They’ve both gone back now so I’m going to relax!

I had further surgery on 22 Dec as pathology came back the margin’s were not clear of cancer cells all the way round. I’m ok with that. Did ask consultant why they don’t do mastectomy for 3N but she wasn’t sure. Don’t like this ticking timebomb of days passing but confident surgery is giving me the best chance. Results to come & treatment plan.

I’m back out walking each day. 4 miles today with a group from my village. It was a bit much but I slept this afternoon. So quick to loose my stamina!

New Year to plan now, an evening of nice food & bottle of fizz with hubbie I think? How will you be spending it? Time to start ticking off the bucket list I think.

    Happy New Year to you

  • Hi Wobbly1,

Hope you are doing ok? Have you had your 2nd EC yet?

Had my meeting on Thursday with oncologist now have a treatment plan of 3 Cycles of EC every 3 weeks over 9 weeks and then 3 cycles of PC every weeks over 9 weeks. But they are now saying no benefit of having radiotherapy? Don’t know what this means so have email nurse to find out why. Should be starting in about 2 weeks time. Getting real now.

    Sending big hug xxx
