My partner was diagnosed 3 months ago with TTC. Following orchetomy we found out he had 2 cancers confined to the testicle. Seminima and embryo carcinoma. He is due to start x 1 cycle of BEP chemo in a weeks time. This week he has sperm banked but his sperm count is low and they said only chance of conceiving is through enhanced IVF? Anyone has experience of low sperm count during TTC. Also any one only has 1 cycle of BEP chemo. Did you have big side effects eg infertility and hair loss?

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that you partner has been diagnosed with testicular cancer but it's obviously good news that it has been found to be contained.

I'm not a member of this group but noticed that you hadn't had any responses. By replying to you it will bump your post back to the top of the page where it may be seen someone who has knowledge of low sperm count.

If you don't get any responses you could post this question in ask a nurse and one of the specialist cancer nurses will respond within 2 working days.

I'm also going to tag into my reply to you as I know he had an orchidectomy followed by chemo and might be able to tell you about any side effects he had.

Wishing you both all the best

    Hi

Sorry you have found yourself here. My husband had a similar tumour to your partner. He had 2 cycles of BEP.

His hair did fall out after 1st cycle. Complete loss. He also done sperm banking before his operation and chemo but didn’t have low sperm count.

My husband is 5 years from diagnosis and we have just had a second child, I was pregnant when he got his diagnosis, conceived naturally.

If you need to message at all feel free to send me a private message.

    Hayley.
