Left Inguinial Orchiectomy

Hi All

I had my left testicle removed 3 days ago and feel recovery is going well. I changed groin dressing yesterday and looks very tidy. Yesterday I was a little concerned at the colour of my scrotum and penis. Today it has got worse and surprised at how purple/black it looks. Everything else is good and so I've left a message with hospital and should hear tomorrow. I'm debating whether to call 111 now and see if I need to go to A&E.

Does anyone have similar experience and what was outcome?

Hi Spezzer

I would get it looked at. Everyone is different and it is probably fine. I had no bruising or discolouration at all, so it isn't necessarily typical either.

Hi thanks for comment. I've spoken to Helen in Southmead Urology who assures me it is normal.

Just got same procedure on both and there is some noticeable bruising that looks normal. My urologist mentioned there would be some significant swelling and bruising. Recommend using jock strap or briefs and ice on and off. Good luck and you will be fine
