Hi, newly diagnosed signet ring cell gastric cancer here.
had a blockage in the lower part of my stomach into my small intestines which was confirmed as SRC. I had a partial removal of my stomach (75%) 3 weeks ago and I feel I am recovering slowly.
I am not due to get the histology reports until 22/1/26 and this wait is absolute torture.
Stupidly I googled the survival rates for SRC and read 1-5 years, I am still waiting to be told the stage and grade of the cancer, but I was wondering if anyone had been in the same position and managed to survive longer than 5 years?
I also had breast cancer 10 years ago and they are saying they believe this cancer is linked to that. I am just left wondering until the histology comes back and as you can imagine I am going out of my mind.
Any advice or info would be greatly received.
Thanks
