Hi I’m a 48 yo male living in UK a week ago I was diagnosed with stomach cancer that has metasysed to my liver and 3 nodes, I’ve just had a second stage CT scan and have an OGD biopsy weds, I’ve done all this private via my work healthcare. I’ve been having really bad pains in the stomach and belly so much I was sobbing in pain last night. My GP has prescribed Co codomol but they zonk me out has anyone else had pain issues like this.
also I’m not eating great due to loss of appetite I’m using ensure plus shakes, I’m scared and in pain I feel like my world is collapsing around me
Dear Matt so sorry to hear this. Once all biopsies are done they will discuss a plan with you. Speak to your hospital team regarding better pain medication or phone NHS24 or even go to A&E if the pain is so bad as you should not be suffering. I know when I am in pain I use "heat" from a hot water bottle and the heat soothes the pain. Obviously it depends how bad the pain is but please don't suffer in silence. I had my stomach removed June 2025. I had no symptoms. It was picked up through endoscopy surveillance for a genetic cancer gene our family have. If you have any questions please get in touch. Please let me know how things go with your hospital team and what their plan is for you going forward. Shirley
