Hi, my 74 year old mum has recently had a gastroscopy with biopsies and CT scan for cancer starting at oesophageal junction down to top of stomach which came back as T3a/4 N3 M0
The plan now is to have CT PET scan and laparoscopy. The nurse informed that if these results show spread to the peritoneum then surgery would not be available.
Has anyone had similar results, gone on to have chemo and had a good response from chemo which then allowed them to have surgery which was initially deemed inoperable?
Looking for any hope
Thanks
