Hello all,
I am new hear and feeling incredibly lost!
Does anyone know if it would make a difference if the tumor was removed by the urology team rather than the sarcoma team?
We are worried as everything we are reading says it must b removed by the Sarcoma team - diagnosed over two weeks ago and still no news from anyone!
Many thanks
Hi Sierra101,
Sorry to hear you are feeling so lost, I hope you're team provides more information soon
My lump was removed by a general surgeon initially before identification of Leiomyosarcoma, the 2nd operation to get good margins was done by a gynaecologist. From initial identification to my second surgery was nearly 10 weeks. (my story is in my profile if that helps)
Have you been provided with a specialist nurse/Macmillan contact to ask your questions. It is always good to write down questions/concerns before your next appointment so that you are prepared before the appointment.
Hugs
Chrissy
No we have been provided with nothing - we found out today that no referral has even been made and will not be until more histology comes back to determine the cell type. They said at this point they will decide whether they want to refer it or not
Hi. Mine was removed by a gynaecologist and then I was referred to the Sarcoma team for my lungs. But the sarcoma team were in touch with the gynaecologist.
