I had had the arm tumour removed, very quickly within a few days thanks to the Macmillan nurse insisting I could not wait 5 or so weeks for radiotherapy on nhs and my company health insurance luckily covering it. Apparently tumour had grown so much in 2 weeks that it would not have been able to wait that long for radiotherapy. Feeling fortunate, but hoping it all has not been left too late…. a couple more weeks before I may know more about level of success of op and when follow up radiotherapy may be able to start. I find the waiting for news so hard to deal with and with such a rare cancer there is little to no information about if there are any possible treatments after this.
Hi LJI
Hoping you are recovering well from the operation, good news about the surgery going ahead.
You are so right that waiting is hard and waiting to see how well a treatment has worked can seem especially difficult. My wife has incurable Leiomyosarcoma but in her case surgery was not possible but chemotherapy worked some magic and seems to have put her cancer to sleep - she says it is not bothering me and I am not bothering it.
<<hugs>>
