I have had an MRI scan and a biopsy. The sarcoma is in my right leg. It is getting bigger and more painful by the day. As my appointment is getting closer my anxiety levels are rising. I long for the appointment, I dread the appointment. My dread is that the news will be that this cancer is in the final stage. I act out in my mind what my reaction will be. I am 74, and I am cross with myself because there are so many young people with this condition. Yet, I don't feel old, I don't feel past it. Eight weeks ago I walked 12 miles along the North Norfolk Coast, Now, it is difficult to walk 12 Steps.
Thank you for listening
Hi Medie
i am 74 I had a tumour in my left arm which was removed nearly two years ago I also have a tumour in my groin area which is benign .
I'm have a similar attitude I don’t feel old either and I do quite a bit of exercise .
The trick is staying in the moment not over thinking the Sarcoma team will be setting out a treatment plan which will deal with your tumour. No doubt you will also have radium treatment in my case that took six weeks . I have had follow up investigations in my bowel prostate and lungs which have all been clear . The aftercare is very thorough with tests and meetings every three months.
Wishing you well
It now approaching the evening, my hardest time of the day. I have just read your post to me. Thank you so much for replying. Your words have given me a real boast. Your story has given me an insight into how the treatment may progress. I was happy to hear that you have made a brilliant recovery. I hope you are able to get back to doing the things that you love.
Best Wishes

Major aspect to remember you are definitely not alone even though you have a rare cancer they are still people about who are going or have gone through the mill.
I made a big effort to learn to relax watching Yutube videos on sleep and relaxation method's it can e difficult at first to grasp the methods but once into it my word it helps. It also helps the mind to be distracted and stop overthinking about the illness
Have you thought of going to the swimming pool to exercise your legs the water is great for supporting the weight on the limb and keeps you active
My cancer was classed as aggressive yet it has not made a show anywhere else in the two years also I had nine months when the local doctor thought the growth was a cyst so nearly three years have elapsed.
Chin up my friend
