4weeks post op for a soft tissue spindle cell sarcoma. Just wondering if chemo or radiotherapy have been offered to others with this form of cancer ?

  • Hello LPTeacher

I am sorry to hear that you have had a diagnosis of soft cell tissue spindle cell sarcoma. I hope that your recovery from the surgery is going well and that you are not too uncomfortable.

I will pop a couple of links below with some information about this cancer and the potential treatments you may be offered. Looking at the Sarcoma UK link it does seem that chemo and radiotherapy may be offered but that this will depend on your own specific medical diagnosis. The best person to ask would be perhaps your CNS?

Hope this helps a bit but if there is anything else you need, please do ask. We also have the Support Line if you feel talking things through would help and you can also speak to one of the nurses on there if you did want some more details about the treatments. The number is at the end of this.

  • I was diagnosed with Spindle cell Sarcoma in April of this year my treatment commenced with surgery to remove the tumour. That was followed with six weeks of radium treatment which has been completed. I have had no chemo treatment.
I am now being monitored with a visit with the specialist every three months I had a cat scan and an X-ray of my lungs plus a blood test prior to my meeting with the specialist.
