Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with ewings sarcoma, and I'm finding it extremely hard to cope with the fact that I'm basically going to die at some point, I'm so scared of leaving my family.

Does  anyone have any ways they could share on how they cope,  or how they think a bit more positively?

  • Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Although being diagnosed does not necessarily mean your going to die. Have you been given a plan of how they are going to treat it?

I was diagnosed with an incurable, untreatable and terminal sarcoma 10 years ago.

I was given months to live in 2013 and I’m still kicking the cancer can down the road. So the diagnosis is not the end of your life. You can live with cancer. Hopefully beat cancer and hopefully live a long time.

How bad is it? What size? Where? Has is spread? Are you at a specialist hospital?

  • I am having chemo every two weeks, two days one time and four rhe other, at UCLH.

It started in my kidney with a six and a half inch tumour which has spread to my lungs, my spine, my right thigh, my right arm which has fractured because of the tumour and also two tumours in my skull.

I was in hospital for three months earlier this year. I was finally diagnosed in June this year. I got to finally go home in August but have had sepsis multiple times since and last week got out of hospital again with pneumonia.

I'm finding it so hard to stay positive, feels like everyone is moving on without me.

Thank you so much for your reply, it's amazing that it's been ten years since they gave you months to live.

  • You do have a lot to deal with but you have a plan and you’re fighting it. So well done you.

I hope the chemo has a positive impact on the tumours.

    what chemo are you on?
