Hi

I'm new here but not really sure if I have a sarcoma or not as yet. Just feeling a bit apprehensive about it all.

I have a fibrous spindle cell tumor in my upper arm that is starting to go into my bicep. So far I've had a ultrasound and a biopsy in March/ April but they cannot tell if it's low grade or benign.

It has been there for 2 years but was dismissed at the first ultrasound. It is still small at 2cms but now been painful since Nov and causing me aching in my shoulder and armpit.

I'm having an MRI with dye and a surgeon appointment next week so I guess will have more idea of surgery by then.

I am very bad with needles, hospitals, blood (my own and other peoples) so feeling nervous about it all. I know it is very small really and I feel a bit of a fraud to be complaining but it's all the waiting makes me worry.

Hi and welcome to the community though sorry to hear about your tumor and your concerns around the hospital.

I am glad to hear things are getting checked out and I am not at all surprised you are concerned. Waiting is often one of the most difficult parts of and stage of a cancer journey - even before diagnosis.

MRI scans are one of my wife's least favourite process of all - even more so than the chemotherapy she has been through - twice. Her good news however was that the second round of chemo put her cancer to sleep and she has been stable now for about 6 years.

    <<hugs>>

    Hi Steve

Thanks for your message. You guys sound like you have had a lot to contend with in the past 10 years. It's good to hear a positive outcome.

A few people I know have said they do not like the MRI. I've not ever had one but I was quite relaxed until I found out I would need an injection. Its strange how that one thought about 'whatever' your phobia/ dislike is can cause so much anxiety.

I was having this conversation at work about the vaccine. Everyone told me is wasn't anything to worry about and it didn't hurt. I said it wasn't the pain and I couldn't explain what it was but it makes me feel unwell. I said try explaining that to someone who is scared of spiders when one is crawling up their arm!!

Trying to take it one appointment at a time till they know what it is...... and not pass out in the mean time GrinBlush
