Hi I’ve been diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma only yesterday, which I’ve been told I require Chemo.
I am 43 with a wife and two daughter one of which does not live with us as she is 21, the other is 15 and very scared what will happen. Is there anyone we can all talk too ?
Is anyone else on here going through this or has come through this ?
Hi and welcome to the community, though sorry to hear about your diagnosis.
My wife also has sarcoma but a quite different variety to yours, she has had two different types of chemotherapy and it has rendered her cancer stable - and it has remained that way for over six years.
I am glad to see you say "Is there anyone we can talk to", I certainly think initially I struggled more than my wife - she is truly a remarkable lady. You came here and that is really good and your wife and elder daughter would be very welcome too. We even have a special space Carers Only - Discussion Forum for carers to support each other. All or any of you would be welcome to ring our helpline 0808 808 0000.
For your youngest daughter I would encourage talking to their school, teachers will in general be able to access lots of support to ensure the children get the care they need both at school and at home and it really helps if everyone is pulling in the same direction. It might help to share Talking to children and teenagers
If you have any questions do ask - and keep asking until you get the answers you need.
<<hugs>>
Steve
