Evening all
Had my mri results the other day for a lump by my elbow and the gp said he doesn’t think there is anything suspicious and that there was a build up of fluid and the fat was protruding into the muscle and because of my history he wanted orthopaedics to have a look. I got my appointment today and it has the doctors name and sarcoma. I am now terrified this lump in my arm is cancer and my anxiety has gone off on one. I am currently being treated for womb cancer (carsinosarcoma) which I believe despite it’s name is not a sarcoma. X
Hi Rach_E
Welcome to our family, though always a little sorry to see a new member. I had not heard of carsinosarcoma but when I looked it up I found this that says you are extra special and got something that is a mix - not perhaps that helpful but then all sarcoma's are fairly rare.
There has been quite a lot of focus on sarcoma of recent as it was often found late and so the docs will want to check if this is a sarcoma - and if it is get treatment online - but of course it might be just what your gp thought.
If is very easy to get anxious - hope your appointment is fairly soon because that can help. There are very things we can do to help. For me I did a living with less stress course and it helped me realise with things like this no amount of worry is going to make a difference,.
Do post on here whenever though, always learning and together we make a great team.
<<hugs>>
Steve
Thank you for the reply src60 I was a little worried when I was diagnosed with my womb cancer as saw sarcoma and panicked but have since learnt that isn’t. I don’t even know how long the lump near my elbow has been there, the gp felt it and was convinced it was a fatty lump but wanted an ultrasound just to be sure. The woman that did the ultrasound was convinced as well but the results came back as it was an irregular shape so gp said just to be sure they recommended an mri which I had and the results from that have come back with build up of fluid and the fat protruding into the muscle. I was fine when he said he wanted orthopaedics to look at it and I got a text yesterday saying an appointment on 26th with trauma and orthopaedics but the letter has come today and it mentions sarcoma. I’m hoping the doctor I am seeing does orthopaedics as well as sarcoma things. X
