Hi,

I’m just messaging for a bit of advice, my husband is currently at home awaiting an appointment for a biopsy then we have up to 5 weeks wait for results. He has suspected leiomyosarcoma on his lungs and liver and a blood clot in his IVC, he is also coughing up blood that the doctors know about. Do you think he should be in hospital for things to move faster or would you think he can stay at home until anything changes, such an emotional time and I’m scared if he goes into hospital he won’t come back CryPensive x

  • Hi Nicki welcome to this forum. If you are at all concerned then please call 111 which is the out of hours call centre. If things change and he continues coughing up blood then maybe hospital is required by calling an ambulance. See what you think but either of those 2 suggestions would give you peace of mind..Gail

  • Thank you for your reply, we came to hospital this morning as things got worse, he has an infection on his lungs so is now on IV antibiotics and they can see from the CT scan that his cancer has progressed, we have an appointment in Leeds on Monday 2nd June so just a waiting game but the consultant said he needs to be having treatment urgently, it just feels like nothing is urgent Pensive but at least we are in the right place. He doesn’t have blood clots on his lungs so that’s one positive thing x x
