Hi. I'm James, had a large retroperitoneal liposarcoma until April 2020, when it was removed by my absolute heroes at the Royal Marsden.

Since then, 3-monthly scans have come back clear (*writing this 3 hours before next results so touch wood!).

The experience was like everyone else's - absolutely bloody terrifying, full of agonising delays and uncertain diagnoses, even moments when I thought the end had arrived. But it didn't.

I'd love to support anyone who wants to talk about it, and try to help them through.

  • Hi James, what a great  positive post! Great to hear that the 3 monthly scans have come back clear. Definitely have fingers crossed here for todays results for you. We all need to hear the good news stories.

I can only imagine what last year was like for you with Covid as well, I am not surprised there were delays.

Please keep us updated with todays results.

another disease-free scan :) Every positive result makes it less likely it will come back. I am not a believer in survival or recurrence stats, they can do at least as much emotional damage as good. After all, survival is binary isn't it?

    Hi

my husband has just been diagnosed and we are terrified . I think he would really benefit from having someone to talk to who understands x

  • Hi Vee48

I was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma in January this year and after 2 surgeries my first CT scan is clear. This is a great forum for support, it might be something you can read together or either of you to ask questions. Take care x

we don’t know yet are still in the diagnostic stage and waiting for confirmation from the consultant. I just think it’s so important he can speak to people who understands how he feels and what he is going through.
