Hi,
has anyone else had/been diagnosed with a uterine adenosarcoma? I was a month ago and had surgery on Monday. Struggling to find much information on them and would be good to talk to someone in a similar position to see if they have any more information.
Hello
For most ladies who are diagnosed with womb cancer the cancer starts in the glandular cells of the endometrium. There are several different kinds and types.
Uterine sarcoma is different as it normally begins in the soft tissues of the womb or the myometrium.
There are different types of uterine sarcoma. Leiomyosarcoma is the most common type and there are several ladies on here who have had this type. Adenosarcoma is another rare subtype and it is a mix of cell types. I have done a quick search and there have been a couple of ladies on this forum who have had adenosarcoma however they may not respond as have not been active on here for a while.
These links may be of help in finding out more.

I hope that your recovery from surgery is going ok and that you soon have your post op results back.

My wife has uterine Leiomyosarcoma rather than adenosarcoma. The primary was likely removed when she had an emergency hysterectomy but she was actually diagnosed some time later when the cancer was found in a lymph node.
For a while the doctors had her on watch and wait but then decided they needed to do some chemotherapy. It was something of a success in knocking back the cancer but had some side effects that meant it had to be stopped and they had to fix up some issues before later they tried a different chemotherapy. The good news is they managed to make her cancer stable and has been that way for about 10 years now with periodic monitoring. With a lot of support we ended up in the situation of being content living with cancer and as Janice says - it does not bother me and I do not bother it.
<<hugs>>

Hi Steve,
I am sorry to read about you and your wife’s situation, but it is also so so nice to hear there is hope and that with treatment I could be able to think about a future ( bit dramatic I know but the research papers on these tumours don’t make fun reading!) .
Wishing you both all the best and I hope things stay nice and stable,
Pluto
