Hi
Hope everyone is keeping well.
It's been confirmed I have mets in my lymph nodes. Pathology confirmed its the exact same tumour as before, wouldn't have happened had I received the radiotherapy originally planned.
I can't help feel bitter about it all. I was misdiagnosed for 5 years the first time round and made to feel like I was mental this time round.
I'm so glad I pushed for the biopsy because even at scans I was told that because the nodes around were normal it probably wasn't cancer.
I'm due surgery in 2 weeks followed by chemotherapy.
Been warned the recovery is going to be as rough as last time and expect 6 weeks in hospital.
I feel much better for getting it all out
Hi SuperReedy,
It sound like the news you were expecting even if it was not what you wanted, good though that you seem to have a plan ahead and knowing what to expect can be helpful - even if it is a long stay in hospital.
Do you know what type of chemo you will be having? We have lots of information about the different types on the main site and while the list of side effects sometimes can seem a bit worrying generally people don't get them all by a long way.
Janice has had two different lots of chemo though for her is was never about a cure but instead the last round rendered her cancer stable and long may it last.
<<hugs>>
Steve
