Hi
I am new to all this and very scared. I've recently been diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma of the bone. It"s my thigh bone. The sarcoma team hoped to operate and cure with chemo, as they thought it was localised to that bone. Ive just had a CT scan back and I have two new masses near the aorta artery. Ive been told we can only treat and manage the cancer now. Does anyone else have any experience of this and what to expect?
Its completely pulled the rug out from under me. I can't stop cryjng and worrying. Any advice appreciated. Thank you
Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both informative and supportive.
I am Steve one of the community champions and my experience of cancer is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma in her case scattered secondaries in both lungs.
Janice never wanted a prognosis and I really struggled with that, however it is worth noting that as sarcomas are rare then there are not a lot of really good statistcs so it would have been little more that an educated guess anyway.
Janice had two lots of chemotherapy, the first was rather succesful but had to be stopped half way through because of other issues it created. The second lot of chemo though seems to have put her cancer to sleep - and it has been that way for about 10 years now.
