Whatever this is I think it would be wise to get it checked out if nothing else for your own piece of mind.
Some years ago I thought I had found something on my testicle but it actually turned out to be a cyst in the tube that comes out from the testicle. Since that I have had a number of infections in this and those can be very painful but treatable with antibiotics.
