Hi everyone. I have recently (a week ago) finished 25 days of radiotherapy. It went better tan expected, but not without it's downs. I have however had 2 anxiety/panic attacks take over me that I have managed to quash before they took hold, So I am still in control of them. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I had one around day 9 of my treatment after leaving the people I was with to return to my own car after a lunch out, then this week I have had two more. One was when I went for a walk and it was icy under foot so that made me nervous (as the sarcoma is in my leg) and then last night I had the best day I have had in possibly years but went to bed and the low mood took hold and then the panic. As I say I feel in control of it, but am just wondering if I should be concerned as its completely out of character for me, but my life is not I life I have had before since my Diognosis. Thanks everyone for the continued support.

  • Hi

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I have no experience with panic attacks, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

I know you've said you're managing these attacks, but you might want to take a look at this information from Macmillan on panic attacks.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
