I have just been diagnosed with Basal Cell Carcinoma. One on my forehead and two closes (they're effectively one) together on the crown of my head.

I'm thinking of have radiotherapy on all three and wondered if anyone has experience of radiotherapy in these areas and how successful the treatment was.

Kind regards for any replies 1James

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I had a BCC on my chest but as that was removed by surgery, I don't have any experience with radiotherapy to share with you.

I've had a look through the group and this is the most recent post which mentions radiotherapy as a treatment for BCC. Clicking on the link will take you to the thread where you could ask further questions if you wanted to.

When you have a minute, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi latchbrook thanks for the reply and the link which has given me an insight into what Radiotherapy could be like. In matters like this information is power and the more we get the better, it helps us to understand what to expect. Although individual cases may, no doubt vary slightly. A better understanding of the treatment is always helpful.
