Hi all, looking for some advice on washing my hair please.
I am newly diagnosed with a BCC requiring surgery on my scalp. It is on the crown of my head and easily covered by combing over hair. I want to know if I can continue washing my hair as normal right now; I know there will be an aftercare regime when I’ve had the surgery but I don’t want to make matters worse for now.
I have no symptoms so no bleeding, itching or pain.
can anyone help me please?
Thanks in advance,
Janet
Hi there,
ive had a bcc removed from my scalp.
I presume you mean you still have the lesion and haven’t had any surgery yet?
I had mine for quite a while and to be honest it was quite large as I was treated for something else first. I just washed my hair as usual whilst waiting for it to be removed. It was awfully itchy and I got relief from washing my hair and I wasn’t told any different
xx
Hey there Poppy and thanks for responding.
Yes, I still have my lesion and have been washing my hair as normal. It doesn’t itch at all (lucky I guess) so I will just continue I think. Having dirty greasy hair doesn’t help to remain positive Still early days for me and don’t really know what to expect so fingers crossed.
I hope you are fully healed now.
best wishes
Janet
