Hello all

I am finally (after a 10 month wait) having a couple of bcc's excised next Monday.  Not at all anxious but just wondering what to expect regarding dressings/stitches etc. Just a straightforward excision as far as I know, 2 bcc's very close together on cheek so asking has anybody else had them in similar place and how was the wound left to heal, did you carry on as normal next day?

I do realise it must be so different for everyone, we are all unique after all, but the day after is my birthday so would be helpful to hear from others that have been through similar.  A day in bed or a day celebrating birthday?   Thanks, hope everyone is coping well.  j x

Hiya, I had one removed from my left temple three weeks ago. It has healed in that the wound has closed and it looks fine. However It still feels numb and I’ve lost mobility, in that my forehead doesn’t move like it did. I think it will come back slowly so will have to be patient. I was told to take it easy and avoid anything strenuous. Also to avoid bending down basically anything which can cause the blood to rush to my head. I had those dissolving stitches so that I wouldn’t have to go back. The op itself was ok, just a local anaesthetic, in fact that was the most painful part. With the rest I felt no pain at all. I had a dressing for a few days but that was all.

hope this helps and I hope it goes well.

Hi Kevin.sud.  Thanks for your reply, that is really informative and helpful.

So no cutting the grass or digging up potatoes next day then !  I live alone so need to sort of plan a bit for next week and knowing it is better to rest up a bit is useful.

Glad to hear your wound is healing well.  I hope the numbness you have will wear off eventually but I imagine you are counting the days.  When you consider what you've had done three weeks isn't that long for everything to get back to normal and it is difficult to be a patient patient sometimes.

All best wishes to you and thanks again.
