I have recently been diagnosed following a hysterectomy and removal of my appendix in January. A mucinous tumour of appendix had ruptured and caused another tumour of ovary and large cyst. I have been placed on watch and wait by Basingstoke team but told I will require HIPEC and surgery in future. Another CT scan in 6 months. I’m really terrified, unsure what the ‘wait’ might mean and what’s going to happen. Would just be good to talk to others who are also living this right now.
I haven’t tried counselling yet but I would say try anything if it makes you feel better xx
Hope it all goes well. I’m very anxious about it all but need to trust that they have me monitored. Have they an idea what will be involved? Do they think they can cure it Kaz or is it treat it? Things that keep me awake at night. x keep n touch. Cathy
Hi Louise x that’s a huge journey for you. Good that you have positive news after your scan. I would encourage you to request counselling as it’s good to say the scary things out loud. Watch and wait is scary x Cathy
They don’t focus on the word ‘cure’. They say disease free. As with any cancer, there’s always that chance it will come back. Disease free is good for me x
Yeh definitely!
You’re in good hands. You have specialists keeping a close eye on you x
Yes x good to know and hopefully disease free will be in my timeline x keep in touch. Cathy
