Having prostate removed soon. 64 yrs old with Gleason 3+4. How do you deal with leakage when you go back to work? Just take several pair dispoasable underwear and pads and find a private place to change? My job is 70% at a desk and 30% walking the shop floor.

  • Hi  I'm reading and replying the day after my op so my catheter is still in and due out in seven days. My surgeon advised 6 weeks off work, I'm desk based like you, but there are no two patients the same so some leak some don't. It also depends how you were before the op. I had no signs or symptoms so I'm going to have to wait and see. Having said that preparation is everything. You MUST do your pelvic floor exercises to strengthen the muscle. This will reduce the risk of leakage post op. If you haven't done already I downloaded the "Squeezy" app from PlayStore. Make sure it's the one for men. Happy to keep you posted on my journey. Details are in my bio.

  • Hello

I made sure my line manager knew my problem and put  in measures that allowed me to leave my desk, or be near a lavatory when away from the office. The pants and pads helped as well.

  • Good luck on your recovery. I started physical therapy a month ago with stretches and kegals. Never heard of the squeezy app before this forum. I'll have to check it out.
