Hi Everybody,

I have been stalking this group for a couple of months and found the information very helpful.

But have decided to introduce myself.

I am 63 and had a PSA test end of September which started me down the path that so many of you have already travelled.

My stats are

Gleason 4 + 4 (Grade 4) prostate adenocarcinoma diagnosed on the right side in 1 out of 17 of the total prostate biopsies. Index PSA 5.3

MRI showed 29cc prostate with PI-RADS4 lesion at the left anterior apical Prostate.  T2 NO

The MRI also showed up cysts on my kidneys.

My wife and I attended an appointment and we thought it was regards a recent ultra sound on my kidneys. But we walked totally un prepared into reviewing my biopsy results.

Like all of you, it came as a shock especially as my Father in law passed away 4 years ago from Prostate cancer.

If there is any good news , the surgeon said that it is contained which seems to be confirmed by the NO, but will be confirmed by a total body bone scan in 2 weeks.

I am veering towards a Radical Prostatectomy as I just want to get it our. We have an appointment with the Surgeon tomorrow.

I have a list of questions for him. I am quite anxious about ED and incontinence afterwards. ED because I have been very happily married for 41 years and would hate to lose that part of our relationship and Incontinence because I cover the UK and spend hours driving my car attending appointments with customers.

But at the end of the day the important point is to address the cancer.

Cheers and all the best for now

Psticks
