I had my first injection 3 months ago and the next is due 2 weeks hence.

I am suffering from fatigue and anxiety.

anyone suffered similar ?

  • Hi Prior2 welcome to the group, everyone on hormones have the same feelings, you are definitely not alone, when were you diagnosis, the more information you can give the group the greater the advice, I note you have not completed a profile, if you touch the icon next to our names it will give you an insight to our pathways.

    All the best Ulls

  • Hi

As Ulls has said, anyone on HT feels similar side effects. The worst part, for me, of HT is the tiredness, fatigue and lack of stamina. Muscle wastage is also very likely.

The CNS told me to try and keep fit anyway I can. I like to walk, so I would challenge myself to climb a hill near me. I kept attacking it until I finally managed it. Strength work using weights will also help.

You won't feel like it, but any exercise you can do now will be of benefit.

I am 9 months on from my last injection, and still not as fit as I was before the start of my journey in 2019.

    Trying to get fit again!
  • Hi  and welcome to the forum. I was on Prostap for three years and had the same side effects as you. Before starting HT I was very fit and really worked hard to keep a level of fitness throughout. My last injection was in June 2021 and it's only in the last couple of months that I feel it has finally left my body. I was 75 in August and walk about 50 miles a month, swim a mile twice a week and go coastal rowing as often as the wind and tides allow.

It will get better but in the meantime a lot of determination to keep exercising will help you immensely.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.
